Following our second Big Burgundy Breakfast on April 18th we have decided to orchestrate a virtual, worldwide BBB. What the hell does that mean?
On Sunday, May 16th at 11am (EST, GMT +5), we will be live-streaming a Big Burgundy Breakfast in NYC via video, via Facebook, and via Twitter #BigBurgundyBfast. Before then, we’ll be updating the blog and the Big Burgundy Breakfast Facebook Group with ideas on wines to buy (and where), recipes to try out, and the restaurants that whip up the best take-out breakie.
The rules:
1. Grab a bottle of red/white Burgundy of your choosing (the older the better).
2. Start drinking at 11am, local time wherever you are in the world.
3. Pair with Breakfast food of your choosing (suggestions and recipes welcome, croissant-offs encouraged).
4. Get friends, aunts, long lost cousins, and even that random person who sleeps on your sofa involved.
Now, to inspire some healthy competition, WineChap is creating an online Hall of Fame for the most extravagant Big Burgundy Breakfasts that take place on May 16th. So, start inviting your friends, empty the shelves of Burgundy in your local wine shop, and get creative about what to wear. The following categories are up for consideration: - Best attendance - Weirdest location - Most Burgundy consumed - Geekiest Burgundy consumed - Longest lasting Breakfast - Most Ribald Breakfast - Most outrageous pairings Photo evidence is required so charge up that camera and get artsy.
